In the Spring of 2005, my son Ian and took a road trip from Los Angeles to Albuquerque.
On the way, we stopped at the Grand Canyon to spend a few days on the South Rim.
We awoke in our sleeping bags that morning to an atmosphere so crystalline and rarified as to raise the dead.
It had been since I was 5 years old that I had seen The Canyon. As we approached the edge my senses began to fail me for the immensity of the perspective. The Complete Awesomeness of It!.
We walked along the South Rim trail to come upon a ledge so perfectly situated for morning yoga as to defy the odds.
I handed Ian the camera and I found a spot far enough from the edge to be reasonably safe. Near enough the plants as to have something to grasp hold of should I begin to loose my balance.
Ian began snapping away as I went about my morning routine of poses and breaths.
What was captured were perfect exposures of light and distance, of yogic resonance with nature that was unforgettable to be a part of.
I trust that you will feel the movement of the poses in your heart, as did I, and have that feeling help to guide you in your own practice of attunement in the poses.
There are text descriptions accompanying each pose that you might see the important points of each asana.
